The End?

Internet monk has an interesting post concerning evangelicalism here

What do you think? Is the end of evangelicalism as we know it near?

I think it may closer than we think in America. Elsewhere I don't think this is true, and perhaps this has less to do with Evangelicals and more with our seemingly increasing post-Christian culture. Maybe?

Maybe it's a combination of evangelicalism's failings and our post-Christian culture. The response of the church to the culture has not been a good one in many places.

I run back and forth with this. Probably with the straight-up "evangelical" churches, yes. But when emergent makes claims for the IC as a whole dying, that I don't see. I dunno. . .

I don't think the IC as a whole will die. The "Church" will take on a different shape and hopefully will allow for diverse ways of worshipping God and ministering to others.

There are some churches that will die. Some will refuse to make necessary changes, and some will have simply outlived their usefulness.
